Ph.D. Liliana ȚUROIU is Associate Professor at the National University of Fine Arts from Bucharest and former President of the Romanian Cultural Institute. She is member of the International Council of Creative Industries Federation and also member in the Scientific Council of the Sapienza Foundation. Professor Liliana Țuroiu is currently the director of the Romanian Cultural Institute in Brussels.

She was the Romanian General Coordinator for EUROPALIA Romania Arts Festival 2019 and its highlight exhibition dedicated to Constantin Brancusi, from BOZAR. Before becoming one of the main voices of the cultural diplomacy in Romania, Liliana was known as a successful entrepreneur and fashion designer. The collection “Dowry / Zestrea” by Liliana Țuroiu is her most well-known project as visual artist that was presented in Paris, Lisbon, Milan, Rome, Hofburg Palace Wien, Bran Castle Romania, Romanian Athenaeum, Ateneo Veneto, a project that revisits the traditional Romanian costume.

She is a strong believer of the key role played by the cultural diplomacy and creative industries within the international community. She has given keynote speeches at NATO International Conference, organized in Egmont Palace in February 2020, at Annual Meeting of the Romanian Diplomacy (RADR) in 2017 and 2018, at the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy in Berlin in 2018 and in many other academic events from over 10 countries.

She was decorated as Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Government.
